Why I Photograph Nature: The Story Behind Wispy Willow Creations.
It’s a question that sounds simple to answer, but it is anything but. Photography was never a hobby I picked up to pass the time, nor something I did just because I was given a camera. It has always lived deeper than that.
The attraction to photography has been present in me for as long as I can remember — a pull that sounds cliché when spoken aloud, but has always felt real. Cameras, however, are not cheap, and it wasn’t something I could justify asking for. So I waited. I waited until Christmas 2024, when I was gifted a second‑hand camera. And wow… it was worth every moment.
For me, photography is a feeling — a quiet rush of happiness that moves through my mind, body, and heart when I notice something small and beautiful. The delicate veins running through a petal. The soft fuzz on a bumblebee’s back. The way sunlight stretches like golden threads across a warm morning. These tiny moments hold emotions that can’t be spoken, yet somehow become clear the moment they’re captured.
Wispy Willow Creations grew from that feeling. The name itself nods to the gentle tendrils of a willow tree — always reaching outward, always moving, always connected. My work is my own way of reaching out too: sharing the quiet beauty I see, offering a pause in a world that moves too quickly, and creating something that feels personal and grounding. My camera is simply the tool I use to gather these wonders before they disappear.
